The glorious Mediterranean sun shone down, forming a glorious backdrop for the arrival of the 2016 Modere Escape guests at the Tiara Miramar Beach Hôtel & Spa Côte d’Azur. We got things underway by heading up to the top-floor restaurant, with our special guests taking in a delightful welcome lunch as well as the most stunning views across the hotel resort and out to sea.
That gorgeous blue sea proved so tempting – some of the guests electing to take a dip in the balmy waters, with others opting to relax nearby in one of the luxurious giant loungers scattered around the pool or simply to explore the hotel and enjoy the amenities. That evening, a quick rendezvous in the lobby and a short trip further up the coast to the chic Tiara Yaktsa restaurant for dinner. We’d booked the place just for ourselves to ensure exclusivity and an uninterrupted view of the Mediterranean sea at dusk.
After all that initial pampering we kicked off the second day with a business presentation – an opportunity to recap and share information and the results of our first Modere business year . We thank all of our guests for their keen participation and contribution! Straight after lunch we boarded the bus for an excursion to Grasse, a town famous for creating fragrances and perfume making. A little bit of tuition ensued with a perfume initiation course from which everyone was able to create their own customised perfume which was then bottled as a very personal souvenir! After a short tour of the perfume production facility, we travelled to the pretty little Medieval village of Mougins, nestled in the hills between Cannes and Grasse. Today the village boasts a fine collection of art galleries and gourmet restaurants, so after a short stroll around its quaint streets we made our way to the L’Amandier restaurant. With the surrounding countryside laid out in front of us, the experience got even better with 5 star dining and music drifting up from the square below from a band putting on an impromptu performance.
A full day ahead began with an early start to Cannes and a walking tour through its main fruit and vegetable market and onward up to the castle, which providing a splendid vista over the bay. From there we took a short boat ride across to the island of St Honorat, an island inhabited by monks famed for their wine-making. What better place to appreciate their skills than the midst of the vineyard, after which we took a gentle walk around the peaceful island before heading to our lunch appointment at the island’s restaurant La Tonnelle – thankfully situated in the shade of trees! After lunch we returned back to the hotel for some free time before it was time to get our outfits on for the white-theme dinner hosted at an exclusive beach at the Cap d’Antibes. As our Escape celebrations continued, once again the setting sun formed a sumptuous backdrop for canapes and champagne followed by a three course dinner in the balmy evening heat.
An amazing weekend, a fabulous location and we thank all of the Escape guests for making it there. We had some fun together – and we have some great photos to show for it too!
